DESCRIPTION:The Golden Retriever Club of Scotland host the 2021 Interclub Working Test on Sunday 20th June 2021. \nThe venue for the event will be Logiealmond Estate\, Perthshire by very kind permission of Mr Philip Blount\, Estate Manager and the Estate owners. \nJudges are Tom West (A)\, Robin Watson (A)\, Alan Downie (B) and another Judge to be finalised. Invites will be sent to each Scottish Club FT Secretary with information for entry. Teams will be made up of 3 handlers at Open standard.  Deadline for team entry will be 7th June.  Spectators may be welcome\, subject to the Scottish Governments current guidelines at the time of the competition. If you wish to be a spectator\, please make contact with the Field Trial Secretary to ensure your details are obtained for Track and Trace purposes. \nCovid guidelines permitting of course ! \n

DESCRIPTION:The Committee of the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland  have unanimously made the decision  not to run any Field Trials this coming season. SUMMARY:Golden Oldie Gonioscopy Testing Day
DESCRIPTION:The Golden Retriever Club of Scotland is delighted to announce that we have been able to arrange a Golden Oldie Gonioscopy testing day in conjunction with Tony Wall and Professor Sheila Crispin to be held two miles away from M74 junction 13 near Abington on Saturday 29th August 2020.\n\nThe purpose of this session\, the first of hopefully several more across the UK\, is to gather data from older dogs in order to understand whether there is a link between drainage angles and Glaucoma in the Golden Retriever. This research is massively important for the health of our breed\, and as a club we would encourage you to take part in this project as the wider the range of dogs that are tested the better the collection of information will be. This project is open to all KC registered Golden Retrievers over 8 years of age\, whether owned by a member or not.\n\nThe Gonioscopy testing for dogs over 8 years of age is free and will not be certified\, but owners should bring their KC registration as records will be kept for the purposes of research. A limited number of certified tests for younger dogs (routine and/or Gonioscopy) are available at the hugely discounted rate of £30 each for any member who is also bringing an oldie.\n\nMembers who don’t have an eligible dog for the Golden Oldies project and wish to avail of this opportunity can encourage a friend to bring an oldie along with them. There may be a limited number of routine tests available to members who don’t have a Golden Oldie\, but please register your interest early!\nTo comply with Government advice due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic this event will be strictly managed and by appointment only. DESCRIPTION:The fun day on Saturday 13th July will be held at the BBQ area at Beecraigs Country Park\, Bathgate\, EH49 6PL \nBBQ area is at Balvormie Meadow which is in the entrance for Balvormie car park. \nCome and Join the FUN at the GRCS BBQ & FUN DAY\n\nJoin in the Games\nMeet other Golden Retriever Owners\nPrizes on Offer\nBBQ\nPuppy Parade\nDog Fancy Dress\n7 Legged Race\nHide & Seek\nScurry\nChildren’s Treasure Hunt\nEgg & Spoon Race\nand LOTS MORE\n\nDirections to the BBQ from M8\nFrom the M8 head towards Bathgate Junction 4 if coming from Glasgow or 3A if coming from Edinburgh\, head towards the Bathgate sports centre pass the entrance and drive 0.3ml and take road off to right towards Beecraigs\, drive for 3.2ml until you see the sign for Balvormie & BBQ area on RHS. drive in and there are 2 car parks after 200m. once parked the BBQ area is on the opposite side from the adventure area. \nDirections to the BBQ from M9\nFrom the M9 take off junction into Linlithgow\, head into the main street if coming from east take LH turn into Preston Rd just before the roundabout for A706 towards Lanark\, if from West go through roundabout and make RH turn into Preston Rd. Stay on road 2 -3 ml take left into Balvormie.
