Any resolution must be duly seconded by a current member. \nElection of Office Bearers and Committee. \nVacancies will occur as indicated below. Nominations should reach the Secretary by 18th March 2022 signed by the proposer and seconder who must be current members. Proposers should ensure that they have the consent of the nominee before submitting the nomination. \nRetiring members who offer themselves for re-election do not require proposers or seconders. \nNominations are invited for the Offices of President\, Chairman and Vice Chairman. \nPresident –                 Mr. Jim Richardson offers himself for re-election. \nChairman –                Mr. Tom Gorrian offers himself for re-election. \nVice Chairman –       Ms. Carron Jenkins offers herself for re-election. \nTreasurer    –            Mr. Douglas McGuffie offers himself for re-election. \nThere are a total of five vacancies which will occur on the Executive Committee of which retiring members: – Jennifer MacDonald\, Emma Tait\, Fiona Walker\, Fiona Clarkson and Frank McCann offer themselves for re-election. \nLin Mitchell\, our current field trial secretary\, is standing down and we would request applications for this post. \nThose members wishing to join the Committee\, other than existing committee members offering themselves for election\, are invited to include a short passage under the following headings. The number of years they have owned Golden Retrievers\, the year they joined the GRCS\, the involvement they have had with other canine clubs or charities\, the responsibilities they have had in these organisations together with their main interest in the dog world by the 18th March 2022. DESCRIPTION:Online Breed Appreciation Day \nThe KC have given GRCS confirmation to allow us to hold an Online Breed Appreciation Day (BAD) and Multiple Choice Exam. This online event will be held on Sunday 30th May at 10am via Zoom. \nThe Online BAD event comprises of a Breed talk which aims to provide or reinforce the basic knowledge to establish a Candidate/Judge’s understanding and appreciation of the Golden Retriever breed\, with a view to take the subsequent Multiple Choice Breed standard exam.** \nThe Speaker for our online BAD is Mr J Richardson. \nThe cost for the BAD and Multiple Choice Exam is available to aspiring judges at a cost of £10. SUMMARY:Golden Oldie Gonioscopy Testing Day
DESCRIPTION:The Golden Retriever Club of Scotland is delighted to announce that we have been able to arrange a Golden Oldie Gonioscopy testing day in conjunction with Tony Wall and Professor Sheila Crispin to be held two miles away from M74 junction 13 near Abington on Saturday 29th August 2020.\n\nThe purpose of this session\, the first of hopefully several more across the UK\, is to gather data from older dogs in order to understand whether there is a link between drainage angles and Glaucoma in the Golden Retriever. This research is massively important for the health of our breed\, and as a club we would encourage you to take part in this project as the wider the range of dogs that are tested the better the collection of information will be. This project is open to all KC registered Golden Retrievers over 8 years of age\, whether owned by a member or not.\n\nThe Gonioscopy testing for dogs over 8 years of age is free and will not be certified\, but owners should bring their KC registration as records will be kept for the purposes of research. A limited number of certified tests for younger dogs (routine and/or Gonioscopy) are available at the hugely discounted rate of £30 each for any member who is also bringing an oldie.\n\nMembers who don’t have an eligible dog for the Golden Oldies project and wish to avail of this opportunity can encourage a friend to bring an oldie along with them. There may be a limited number of routine tests available to members who don’t have a Golden Oldie\, but please register your interest early!\nTo comply with Government advice due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic this event will be strictly managed and by appointment only.
