The 7 hour journey from Scotland to Wales to take part in the Annual Golden Retriever Interclub was well worth the journey - the Scottish Team came 4th overall - 1 point behind 3rd Team South Western GRC and 3 points behind 2nd Team GRC - Congratulations to the winning team Southern Golden Retriever Society - very worth winners indeed. The highlight of the competition came when both of our Novice Dogs - Jai - handled by Philippa Williams and Ghillie, handled by Julia Deeming were called forward to a run off for the Top Novice Dog overall, along with 2 other Novice Dogs - all four dogs equalling for the top spot. After an exciting run off the Top Novice Dog award was given to Philippa Williams. More excitement came Scotlands' way when The overall top dog (between the Top Open and the Top Novice dog) was awarded to Philippa Williams - boy was there some whooping from our little Scottish Team. A fabulous day hosted by GRC Wales - lovely judges, really good tests (all 6 of them) and a very warm welcome from the GRCW Working Committee. The biggest thankyou must go to my team mates - Phillipa, Julia, and Liz Roberts - and ther lovely goldens - from Left to right - Cougar, Clover, Top man Jai and the lovely Ghillie. We were knocking on the door girls - roll on next year.
