We enjoyed a fabulous AV Open Trial, very kindly supported by Skinners and BASC. Grateful thanks to Drummond Estates and Garry Ford, Head Keeper, who ran the day with good humour, and a great deal of professionalism. We had a cracking selection of guns, who shot expertly well, with a varied selection of game including pheasant, partridge and snipe. Grateful thanks must go to the Judges - John Castle, Joe Maclure, Ally Kennedy, John Williamson, for giving up their time, it is always such a relief for the Field Trial Secretary, when the trial is in such good hands. We witnessed some excellent dog work, in a friendly atmosphere. The club also welcomed Jeremy Barron, Carron Jenkins, David McCubbin, who came along to observe dogs in a working capacity as part of their judgingqualification - Thank you to all competitors for making them welcome and responding with explanations of the happens. A great reflection of our Sport. Delighted to confirm the winner of the Trial was indeed last years' Winner - David Lisett with The Duke of Buccleuch's Buccleuch Xena - what a fabulous result - to win the trial 2 years in a row with the same dog, David went on last year to win the IGL Championship, we can only hope he is on the same journey and wish him sincere best wishes and all the luck for this years championships.
