Winner
Erica Munro Ferguson's black Labrador bitch - Abbottshall Midge

Once again we had great weather and a fabulous day at Craigie Farm, Leuchars for our Novice Field Trial. Grateful thanks to Jamie Horne of Deer Scotland who graciously welcomed us back to Craigie, and to our Sponsors - Skinners Pet Foods and BASC who are generous with their support. Gratitude is also extended to Ian Christie who acted as Steward of the Beat for us, and to the guns who, in exceptional good humour, shot for us. Without this sort of support our Field Trials just simply would not take place. A mixture of game was in abundance, pheasant, duck and hare, with a hare providing a particularly tricky retrieve for 4 dogs who all tried hard against a strong head wind but who were eventually all put out of the competition as the judges were the ones to pick it.

We had a closely contested finish to the trial between 2 dogs - Erica Munro Ferguson's black Labrador bitch - Abbottshall Midge and Kevin Haynes's Yellow Labrador - Jocksburn Don of Cairngryffe. Delighted to have a winner this year - with the Midgard Perpetual Trophy going to Erica and her lovely dog - Midge. Midge also won the admiration of the guns and was also awarded Guns Choice to receive the Craigie Trophy. A Certificate of Merit was awarded to Kevin. I am once again indebted to the judges who, at short notice stood up to be counted and support the club - heartfelt thanks goes to Dick Sorley, Alan Meldrum, Sandy Robertson and Nikki Waddington for giving their time to the club and to the competitors.
