The websites of the Scottish Tourist Board and Tomich Holidays will give you details of the accommodation on offer. Make sure your accommodation is for Tomich near Cannich NOT the Tomich further North near to Inverness.

Tomich Holidays is the nearest to where the “Gathering” is taking place and they have different types of accommodation ranging from self-catering to bed and breakfast. Most of the cottages in the village have a Saturday to Saturday let.

There are 33 pitches at Cannich campsite a short distance from Tomich village. To find other camping sites our links page may be of help.

Should you wish to cater for yourself it would be wise to stock up in Inverness where all the large stores such as Tesco, Sainsburys and Marks and Spencer have branches. M&S sell the largest variety of ready made meals and you can buy a complete meal for 2 including wine £10. Good quality pizzas, complete salads, deserts, even ready made mashed potatoes are sold and only need heating up. If the weather is hot it would be advisable to have a cool box and ice for these can be purchased at all the major stores.

There are many small wild beasties living in the highlands at this time of year which go by the name of “midges”, and like the human Scottish inhabitants are from a very strong strain. The best protection which is also used by the Royal Marines is Skin So Soft by Avon, so buy plenty of the dry oil body spray. The locals say the good thing about these wild beasties is that the English don’t outstay their welcome !!
