Bring your own picnic supplies and chairs for the afternoon. This will be a fun afternoon as it was at the 2006 Gathering – go to the GRCS website and click on previous events.
There will be haggis hurling, kilt racing, tug-o-war, scurry competition and the Grand Old Duke
Of York (to count the number of Goldens present). It is hoped to beat the 188 Goldens caught
in one exposure at the 2006 Gathering. Don’t miss out on being in the photograph which will be
admired for years to come.
It is important to note that on this occasion vehicles will NOT be allowed to park at the old house or surrounding areas.
This decision is outwith the control of the G.R.C.S.
Those attending the Gathering will have to park in the Kennels Field and thereafter walk with their dogs the slightly less than 1 mile to Guisachan House. For those who have difficulty in walking, GRCS will provide a 31 seater bus which will operate a shuttle service from the Kennels Field between 12.30pm and 2.00pm and return between 4.00pm and 5.30pm.
Appropriate strong footwear should be worn. A limited number of volunteers will endeavour to assist where possible.
Please remember the venue is in the Highlands of Scotland where there are no motorways and
approach roads are narrow with passing places, so please be prepared to rough it a bit.
Unwind after the afternoons activities at the Gathering by attending the Social – Educational – Question Time Evening from 7.30 onwards in the Hall at Cannich Shinty Field.
This will be another opportunity to meet up and perhaps make new friends with similar minded people.
