LOCATION



Tomich (Guisachan) is between Inverness and Fort William. Nearest airports are Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
From the North on the A9 you take the A82 from Inverness and after approximately 14 miles take the A831 to Cannich which is then signposted Tomich.
From the South West (Glasgow) head for Dumbarton on the A82 which takes you round the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
You will pass Fort Augustus, a visitor centre and can stop to take in the Abbey.
You then continue until you meet the A831 at Drumnadrochit near the centre of Loch Ness.

Places to visit en route.

Places to visit if you wish are Edinburgh, walk up Arthurs Seat, do some shopping or see the Castle.
A place you might like to stop for coffee or a meal or do some exclusive shopping and buy some typical Scottish gormet food is The House or Bruar, on the A9 North of Edinburgh.
For nature lovers there is Loch Garten, home of the Ospreys who come back to nest every year. It is a spectacular sight to see them catch trout from the Loch, which is near Aviemore.


There is also Pitlochry an area of outstanding natural beauty with plenty of facilities. There are also 3 whisky distilleries in this area.
Further down on this side of the coast you can visit Alnwick Castle, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. The gardens which have been renovated are magnificent, there is plenty to do and again the facilities are excellent.

If you visit Glasgow you will find a thriving cultural city with superb art galleries. Two that should not be missed are the Rennie Macintosh Willow Tea Rooms and Scotland Street School.The Art Nouveaux furniture and paintings are very prominent in everyday things in Glasgow.
The Burrell collection of tapestries and artefacts from ancient China and Egypt are also worth a visit.
