WALKS
The walk to Plodda Falls takes you through some very beautiful forest. There is a vantage point halfway through the forest. First you come to the pool at the top of the drop and once you are at the bottom you can walk the stream.
The waterfall was constructed by Lord Tweedmouth to provide electricity for Guisachan Estate.
This is the gathering pool at the top of the falls. The walk will take you to this spot and then you make your way down through the woodland. It is quite a steep walk.
There are many signposts to areas you may wish to see together with the distances.
Anybody wanting to take a car to see Plodda Falls will find a car park within a reasonable distance but you will have to climb back through the forest.
Pictured below is Dog Falls which flows through very narrow rocks creating very fast flowing water and deep pools. It is in this area that the original film The Last of the Mohicans was filmed.
